Myanmar is a very beautiful country with snow-cap Mountains as well as hot lowland plains. Having various kinds of topography emerge several kinds of destinations at the same time many kinds of tourism are performed by travelers. Although Myanmar tourism is culture tourism, other tourisms are well conduct. Trekking is one kind of adventure tours and trekking can be made at the highland. There are many trekking ways around Myanmar such as Kalaw Trekking, Chin Trekking, Hsipaw Trekking, Loikaw Trekking and so on. I want to share my excellent experience when I trekked to Mt.Victoria . We went to Chin state last monsoon. The starting point is Mandalay so we drive along Mandalay-Pakkaku way until to get Kyaukhtu. When we got to Kyaukthu , we drove branch off road to Mintut and proceeded to Kanpalet for relaxing and overnight at Pine Wood Hotel. Kanpalet is a very beautiful hill station and located at 4000 feet above sea level. At this time the temperature at Mandalay was high but we climbed up Kanpalet and the weather was changed immediately. The weather was cool and pleasant. Next morning drove to the starting point to trek Mt.Victoria, not only the national park’s biodiversity but also ASEAN Heritage Park. It is the highest mountain in Chin State. The high of the mountain is 10016 feet but we drove up about 7000 feet and trekked about 3000 feet. When we reached top of the mountain the temperature would be 5 or 6 degree centigrade. We could not make fire at the top of Mt.Victoria , because there is less oxygen. So we had lunch happily with light food. After that we walked downhill to reach the base camp and returned to the hotel for overnight. Next morning enjoyed the sunrise and explored the ways of life of the Chin hill tribe in Aye village. At Aye village , we had breakfast and after that drove to Shame village by car. Trek to Kyardoe village where we observed the culture and tradition of the Chin hill tribes. Their way of life is very different to ordinary people from born to death. There is still sacrificial custom. In this village, they sacrifice animals such as bulls, pigs and mythons for spiritual reasons. Every household in the village is decorated prided with the skull of bulls, goats and wild animals they got from the forest which show their power, wealth and prestige. They record how many animals they sacrificed by decorating a large wood spike with different carving for different meanings. Then we came back under the freezing weather and contemplated we visited to the live in the world or went back to century. There are several villages and there are many small tribes under Chin Ethnic group , in trekking are near Mindat and Kampalet , they are Dai , Makan , Mon and Taungha. Trekking in Chin state will make you feeling much difference from visit another places.
