Mandalay is the last capital of Konbaung Dynasty which was the final Myanmar Monarchical System. Konbaung Dynasty was divided into two parts, the previous and the later. The Later was called Yadanarpon Dynasty which had King Mindon and King Thibaw. Yadanarpon means heap of jams. King Mindon acceded the throne at Amapura. Three years later, he wanted to abandon old capital and to build a new city. So he built Yadanarbon by the seven edifices of the foundations at the same time. They are Myanansankyaw Royal Palace, the moat and the walls, Kuthodaw Pagoda (the world biggest book is situated in this compound), Ordination Hall, Thudama Zayats, Tritipitaka Test House and Atumashi Monastery. Mya Nan San Kyaw Royal Palace stands grandly for Myanmar. When we look at the top of the Palace, we get courage and remember the gratitude of our Land Lord. The Palace was moved and reconstructed as well as the civilians moved to the new city. Therefore, the name of some block are same Amapura and Yadanarbon e.g. Zaycho (invited market), Wartan (stall of bamboo), Kawartan (stall of washing), Uyintaw (royal garden), Palwaytan (stall of Tuba) and so on. Yadanarbon lies beneath the shadow of Mandalay Hill so the name of city was changed into Mandalay. King Mindon settled the civilian to live in one block that professional job was same. So the name of block was depended the jobs e.g. people who were tailors their block was named Atchoattan (stall of sewing). In Mandalay, most of the professional works were concerned with Royal Family or Royal Palace. Tapestries Clothes were only for Royal family. Nowadays this is not for clothes and it is for decoration. As well as others works were only for the Royal but at the present they remain as Myanmar Culture heritage. (ironman.greaterzion) Gold leaving is specific work of Mandalay. Gold are formed to get a smallest and thinnest practical as like as paper. Gold leaving are used to gild the Pagoda and Buddha Statues because Myanmar much prefer gilding Pagoda. They donate gold leaving to Pagodas as Gold Robe. Mahamuni Buddha, the land mark of Mandalay is the best example for donation of gold leaf.
