King of Fruits
People worldwide consume Mango. In Myanmar we call “King of Fruits” and we have varies of mango species. We can see the great species of mango tree in tropical area. One of the famous places to grow the mango trees is Mandalay region. The other places are Irrawaddy division and Shan State. Most of the people plant the mango trees in their compound. That is one kind of shady trees. Mango season is from June to July. They grow from the seeds and the mango tree bears the great quality fruits four years after planting and bears until 40years. A few species of famous mangoes are Sein Ta Lone (one diamond mango), Yin Kwal (heartbroken mango) ShweHin Thar and we export these top species of mangoes to some Asian countries. Moreover we have the target for international market. Mandalay Region Mango Group Chair DawThan ThanSwe saids “The target this year is to export the Sein Ta Lone mangoes to the international market and currently, the market price for one big green mango is between 200kyats and 300kyats”. Sein Ta Lone is the best one of the species in the world.
